Shayne Ward looked virtually unrecognisable this weekend as he took to Sixfields Stadium in Northampton for a game of charity football.
The former soap star ditched his trademark shaved head and designer stubble, opting instead for a full head of thick curls and bushy beard.
Showing off his new look, the former Corrie star took to the pitch alongside a host of other stars for the Celebrity Soccer match, which was played in aid of Archie’s Fund and the club’s own Community Trust charity.
Wearing a form-fitting maroon football shirt and white shorts, the 34 year old looked dapper as he flashed his new hipster beard and thick locks – shouting directions at his fellow celebrity team-mates, including Dan Osborne and Dan Cohen.
Shayne happily flaunted his muscular physique in the slim fitting kit as he tucked his shirt into his shorts and got stuck into the game, eventually winning.
This comes just over a year after he opened up about being shamed by online trolls about his physical appearance.
Appearing on Loose Women, the hunky star read out a number of cruel comments made on social media.
“Shayne has the xxl factor,” read one while another said: “How did the fat one pull two hotties?!”
“It is strange,” he told Ruth Langsford at the time.
“My body’s changed, it’s gonna change. I’ve never been one for a six-pack, I enjoy food and now I’m a dad.
Adding: “I have a cuddly figure for my little girl. You are pressured. If you’re on TV you can relax, but you still get trolls online, it’s not fair on guys.”
He concluded: “My body is always going to be changing, as long as I’m happy in myself, that’s all that matters, if I want to sit in the Rovers and have a hotpot, I will!”
