Back in October, he sparked speculation that he’d undergone a hair transplant, after he was seen displaying a thicker mane during a whirlwind trip to Hong Kong.
And David Beckham, 43, showed just how lustrous his locks have now become, when he took to Instagram to wish his fans a Merry Christmas in a festive snapshot in the early hours of Monday morning.
With a pair of novelty reindeer antlers resting atop his voluminous tresses, the father-of-four pulled a playful face as he posed beside his grand fireplace shirtless.
Hair we go, hair we go, hair we go! David Beckham posed a shirtless snap on Instagram on Monday, wishing his fans a Merry Christmas – and sporting a notably thicker mane of hair
Captioning the image, the erstwhile England skipper wrote: ‘Good Morning and Happy Christmas Eve.. Can you tell I’m slightly excited… chestnuts roasting on an open fire and all that.’
While his representatives have previously declined to comment on whether or not the sportsman has had a hair transplant, his new look certainly garnered attention.
Dr Asim Shahmalak, from Crown Clinic in Manchester, recently said: ‘David Beckham’s hair does appear to be thicker than in the pictures of him in Miami a couple of weeks ago when he was showing clear signs of male pattern baldness.
The mane attraction: The retired footballer’s famed locks appeared thicker and darker compared to his appearance back in September
Fab follicles: Earlier this month, the star’s tresses were seen looking lengthy and voluminous
‘It is impossible to say for certain but it does look like he has been using thickener in his hair to give the impression of having a fuller hairline.
‘Lots of male stars use these temporary products to hide hair loss. Wayne Rooney is a good example of this trend. I think David Beckham is borrowing a trick from Rooney, he has dyed his hair darker which gives the impression of greater thickness.
‘The effect of these measures is to make his hair look much thicker all over and disguise what is likely to have been an earlier hair transplant.’
Staying mum: Representatives for David, pictured with his wife Victoria Beckham, recently refused to comment on rumours that the star has had surgical help with his hair
Beckham himself once suggested he wouldn’t be tempted to go through the costly process of a hair transplant.
‘There is definitely nothing wrong with doing that,’ he said in 2012, ‘But I don’t think personally I would. If I do start showing signs of going bald, then I will shave it off.’
Hair speculation aside, the star will likely be celebrating his Christmas in lavish style with his wife Victoria Beckham, 44, and their four children: sons Brooklyn, 19; Romeo, 16; Cruz, 13, and seven-year-old daughter Harper.
