This post was contributed by a community member.

Everyone knows those foods that are healthy and those that are not, right? You would be surprised at which foods, although advertised as the “healthy option”, really are anything but. In fact, some of the worst offenders are filled with ingredients that, on top of being unhealthy, keep those inches on your waistline and won’t let you take off those extra pounds. There are still other foods that, although they actually are healthy, they are simply too dangerous to consider eating. There are probably dozens of foods which would make this list, but let’s take a look at just the top 7 foods that you absolutely must remove them from your diet if you care at all about your health.

You will be surprised to hear that sprouts are unhealthy. There has been more than 40 recalls on sprouts due to either contamination or health issues in only 20 years. This applies to all types of sprouts including peas, alfalfa and bean. Sprouts grow in warm conditions, which are also perfect for the survival of bacteria such as listeria, salmonella and E.coli. In addition to that, you may not be aware of how long the sprouts may have stayed by the time you go to buy them from a store. This is considering the fact that sprouts can grow bacteria in a short period if they are not handled in a proper way.

You definitely know that ketchup is used on hamburgers and French fries. However, you may not be familiar with the fact that ketchup is actually poisoning your burger or fries which are already unhealthy. High fructose corn syrup, which happens to be sugar, is used to make ketchup. This is in addition to the fact that the corn is GMO. There is some ketchup with two different types of sugar. Excess sugar and fats are really damaging to your well-being. Another thing about ketchup is that it is heated then boiled down, which gets rid of some nutrients that are highly beneficial to your health.
